  • Coping Through Grief And Loss

Well, this girl is no stranger to grief and loss, unfortunately. I have had my fair share & then some. In my previous blog, Addiction Is A Family Matter, I shared the loss of my son and ex-husband to suicide. Before losing those two loved ones, my boss of 19 years took his own life as well. Then somewhere between those deaths, my all-time favorite actor Robin Williams passed in the same way! Boy, was I feeling the weight of grief and loss at this time in my life.

  • Addiction Is A Family Matter

By Michelle Nollsch Love The Addict Not The Addiction This week’s blog will be on a much deeper subject. I have been on both sides of the coin regarding addiction. In my previous blog, “Strengthening Family Ties,” I mentioned I struggled with substance abuse after losing my adopted parents to cancer. Family members and friends […]

By Michelle Nollsch What’s The Difference Between Empathetic & Empathic? We all have different levels of empathy where we feel for another person & their life situation. When we are Empathetic towards another person it allows us to be moved emotionally by the circumstance. Usually this is followed up with kind, caring, and understanding words […]

    Social Understanding

Judgement vs. Discernment What do I mean by this? When I researched the difference between Judgement vs. Discernment, it became clear we lack social understanding in our world. We are so quick to judge one another & don’t take the time to understand the person or situation first. Our ego is at play when we […]

  • Strengthening Family Ties

Connecting & Strengthening Family Ties The topic of my family has been on my mind lately with the graduations, summer festivities & seeking connection. I’m looking forward to our upcoming trip to see our daughter & grandchildren who live in Montana. This trip is one we don’t want to miss! Even though my husband was […]

  • Being Vulnerable With Others

Vulnerability On My Blogging Journey If you have been following along w/ me as I blog, you have gotten to know me better. I ask myself, when am I sharing too much? I talk about being authentic & vulnerable, but it is downright scary to reveal your true self! I allow myself to be vulnerable […]

  • Building & Maintaining Healthy Relationships

Building Healthy Relationships- My Experience I am not an expert on this topic, but I strive to build & maintain healthy relationships in my life. Growing up, I struggled to build friendships, let alone keep them. I was shy as a kid but had a big heart. My mom always said I wore my heart […]
