Are you open to a helping hand today?
This may seem like an easy question, but look deeper and it may not be quite as easy as you think. Opening up to a helping hand also opens up vulnerability and trust. This is all part of the adventures offered this day.
I understand now that the vulnerability I’ve always felt is the greatest strength a person can have. You can’t experience life without feeling life. What I’ve learned is that being vulnerable to somebody you love is not a weakness, it’s a strength.
There is also the other side of this equation, allowing and accepting this vulnerability brings responsibility as well. Offering a helping hand, allowing another to be vulnerable in front of you comes responsibility, the responsibility to treat the situation with kindness and reverence. This is surely something to consider when offering a helping hand and also when asking for one.
Today is a day to trust: allowing others to help and offering help when you can.
I offer you this mantra with kindness and reverence:
I see the hands outstretched offering
I accept this kindness
With an open heart
Offering what I can in return
