A Time For Reflection
Well, we are in the last month of 2022. December is a time to reflect on this past year and to make some goals for the year ahead. It’s been nine months since I quit my long-term job of almost 27 years. It has been interesting to observe myself as I decompress and heal. Feelings about all kinds of things have been surfacing. It’s interesting how much I suppressed my feelings and kept going.
I admit I sucked it up and kept going because I had to. Menopause plays a part emotionally, but I finally feel safe enough to feel my feelings. I am enjoying this new chapter of my life. So basically, I’m getting to know my new self and look forward to what 2023 has to offer!
My Personal Goals
What does reinventing myself look like for me? Part of that is making some attainable goals. I will start small, conquer those and work up to those that challenge me. Here are five personal goals to start with:
- Journal daily
- Declutter areas in my home
- Increase my exercise routine
- Take a class that educates and interests me
- Create art or complete a craft of my choosing
Conclusion
It may seem like a weird list to some of you. For many years, I have wanted time to work on certain things but never made the time for it. Out of pure exhaustion I’m slowly making my way back to a healthier state. I’m in a place now where I have some free time to explore, create and enjoy those things I’ve been meaning to get to but never did. The excuses are out of the way now! Though my journey is slow, I am still moving forward.
I will revisit these goals in three months and see what I have been able to cross off my list. As I keep working on my goals, they will change as I change. It took many years of manifesting to get where I am today, but I finally got there. No matter how slow your progress is, don’t give up! It will be worth it. I am living proof of that. Find joy in the journey along the way.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year To You All! See you next year!
